FAQ
Questions people ask before they start writing
A quick guide to how The Letter handles private entries, shared links, moods and account access.
Is The Letter private?
Yes. Journals are private to your account unless you create and send a read-only share link.
Can therapists edit my journal?
No. Shared journal links are read-only.
Can I share only one journal?
Yes. Share links are created per journal, so you can share one journal while keeping others private.
How does mood tracking work?
Each entry can be tagged with a mood. The Letter counts those moods and shows the most frequent one in the dashboard.
Can I use The Letter on mobile?
Yes. The Letter is a responsive web app and works in modern mobile browsers.
Is my data encrypted?
The Letter uses managed cloud infrastructure and secure HTTPS connections. More detailed security controls will evolve with the product.
Can I export my entries?
Export is not available yet, but it is a natural future feature for a journaling product.
Can I add Spotify moments?
Yes. You can attach Spotify embed links to entries when a song belongs to the moment.
Can I revoke a shared link?
Yes. Regenerating a journal share link invalidates the previous shared link.
Can I use multiple journals?
Yes. You can create separate journals for different parts of life.
Can I use The Letter for therapy?
Yes. The Letter is designed for private reflection, therapy preparation and read-only sharing with therapists.
Is The Letter medical advice?
No. The Letter is a reflection tool, not therapy, medical advice or crisis support.
Do I need a Spotify account?
No. The Letter uses public Spotify embed links and does not require connecting a Spotify account.
Can shared viewers see all my journals?
No. A share link only opens the specific journal connected to that link.
Can I change between English and Portuguese?
Yes. The Letter includes native English and Portuguese language options.
